Palm Beach Zoo Introduces WHILL Power Chair Service to Provide Improved Mobility for Guests

Palm Beach, FL, December 5, 2023 – The Palm Beach Zoo has partnered with WHILL to provide innovative electric power chair rentals for its visitors. The service allows guests to easily navigate exhibits, animal experiences, and more using a state-of-the-art WHILL Model C2.
The Palm Beach Zoo wanted to find a way to make the zoo more accessible and made the decision to partner with WHILL after listening to guests’ feedback. The comfort, maneuverability, and impressive functionality of the WHILL Model C2 ensures that visitors can explore the zoo’s 23 acres of pathways with confidence. The power chairs can be used by people who have difficulty walking long distances or simply need extra mobility support throughout the day.

Before introducing the power chair service, visitors to Palm Beach Zoo would need to either bring their own mobility device or rent one from a local provider. This can be challenging, especially for people who are vacationing or visiting from out of town.
“Making the Palm Beach Zoo accessible is an important part of our wildlife-saving mission and allows everyone to connect with our animals,” said Casey Coy, Palm Beach Zoo’s chief operations & safety officer. “We are excited to introduce WHILL personal EVs to our guests, allowing them to explore our wildlife-filled park unencumbered. A portion of the rental of these unique motorized scooters also benefits the zoo and animals in the wild – a win for nature and accessibility.”
