WHILL Awarded 2018 “Red Dot: Best of the Best”

San Carlos, CA, April 10, 2018 – WHILL, today announced that their Model C won the “Best of the Best” Red Dot Award 2018 in the Healthcare category. WHILL received a Red Dot Award honorable mention in 2014 for the Model A, and this is the fourth design and innovation award WHILL has received in 2018, including: CES 2018 “Best of Innovation Awards;’ iF Design Award 2018; and selected as one of the world’s “Most Innovative Companies” of 2018 by Fast Company.


The Red Dot Award, established in 1955, has become one of the most recognized and sought after design awards in the world. This year, over 6,000 product applications from more than 59 countries were submitted and assessed by a panel of independent and international jurors who awarded a Red Dot to products with a high design quality with the most ground-breaking and best products of a category being awarded the “Red Dot: Best of the Best.”

The Model C is a category-defining product, one that uniquely combines a sleek, fashionable design with advanced driving features, such as WHILL’s patented front omni-wheels for exceptional indoor/outdoor versatility, and embedded with the latest in wireless technologies to provide users additional peace-of-mind. Model C also disassembles into three components so that it can be transported easily.


The Model C will be presented in the Red Dot Design Museum, the largest museum for contemporary design. The “Red Dot: Best of the Best” gala will be held on July 9, 2018 at the Aalto-Theater in Essen Germany. Roughly 1,200 guests from all over the globe will be in attendance to celebrate the prestigious group of winners.
